This concept bike certainly turns a few eyes and even more if used on the road. The design has an appeal although like most concept bikes ends up too extrovert and too expensive to become a marketable model. Mind you the money the Specialized Company have made means they have wads of disposiable income to invest in these kinds of ventures.

This is called the RevoPower Wheel it turns your regular pedal powered bicycle into a Gas Powered Bicycle. It is a cheap and easy way to get about without the sweat and effort although it does defeat a big chunk of reasons for riding s abike in the first place! It consists of a 25cc two-stroke gas-powered engine and gears within the front wheel of a bicycle. This system can fit onto any 26" wheeled bike. Not bad!

It's a nice sight to see policemen on bicycles. Police presence is all it takes to stop trouble and with a bike creates a diffusing mode. No crash helmets though, not a good example, but I'm not in favour of compulsory helmets anyway for many reasons.

An Electric Powered Tricycle

This is an electric powered tricycle made by a company called Gomier. With 450 watts of power it is powerful enough for speeds up to 8 mph (limited due to tipping over) and steep hills. It gives around 8-10 miles per charge without pedalling or up to 25 with pedalling. With a price tag of around £1300 it is out of my reach. Not to sure that tricycles are good fro urban riding as they cannot weave like conventional bicycles although that is what it had in mind.

Well I can't say more than say read the title, it tells you exactly what you see here. No need to be a cycling fan to appreciate the view that it presents. Looking at the sandals however, I know this woman isn't a keen cyclist and just modelled for the picture - the tyres aren't even muddy!. She also needs a helmet. So. she isn't a sexcy cyclist, just sexy.

Going aroudn in a town or city with earphones in and communicating on something other than traffic is a suicidal hobby. With ipod and the likes poplar now combination is a death trap. When riding in towns and cities yo have to be fully alert on traffic that are out to kill you. You are making it easier for them with ipod et ups on when riding like this guy. A Useful Tool For Bike And Dog

I often used to take my dog out for walks whilst riding my bike. On a conventional lead it is a nightmare especially when he saw a cat! This tool is a very useful invention, being rigid but with a small degree of flex, make it a comfortable ride and walk respectively for rider and dog. More importantly, it's safe!

Gears are so useful on bicycles making it a joy to ride up and down hills with ease, especially on mountain bikes that have 7, 8 or 9 on the rear and 3 on the front crank. The technology makes them very easy to use nowadays and they last for ages if you clean and oil them regularly.

Bicycle wheelies is quite hard to master, it took me six months with regular practice. Once mastered however it's great when you can just strut your stuff. This is a 'Quadricycle' a four-wheeled vehicle from the Victorian era. By the end of the 19th century they had disappeared but were reintroduced in the 1970 as a tourist vehicle that you can hire. Much more sociable than a tandem!

The Hobby Horse

This is a picture of the Hobby Horse and was built by Denis Johnson in 1881. He was a British coach maker but apparently wasn't the original inventor British coach-maker Denis Johnson. That in 1817 by a German inventor called Drais de Sauerbrunn, he called it the 'Draisienne' Johnson's version had no pedals and to move along yo have to push your feet along the ground. With no brakes dragged feet are used to stop.

This is the original Raleigh 'Chopper' bicycle of the 1970's. I never got to own one as I was skint most of the time as a kid. As I remember I wasn't too keen on this bike anyway. These are now collectors' bikes and are often up for auction for massive amounts of money. A fin fashion bike which I have not offence against as it does get many kids on bicycles and that' cant' be bad.

This is certainly a innovative time trial bike from ORYX. It has with a fork and chain-stay that is one-sided. With a distinctive Y-frame shape, it has a comfortable ride without loosing ground traction.

Cycle time trialling folk are serious about their sport and will spend gross amounts of money, (from sponsors who have it that is) to shave split seconds off the runs. What I found most funny about this cycle is the a hole in the seating to cool your bottom!

Florescent Bicycle Clips - So Useful

Not a bicycle picture today, but something that cyclist should never be without. Bicycle clips are so useful, especially for commuting when you don't want to get your trouser bottoms oil up from the chain. They are even more useful now that you can get them in yellow florescent finish making you even more visible to killer cars. I have a pair of these that I brought over from the UK to Bulgaria, I'd feel lost without them. I had used thick rubber bands before, but they don't last long. This metal product lasts a lifetime. The only thing that can go wrong is you losing them!

Hardtail mountain bikes are the best in my opinion. Not too keen on full suspension bikes, it take the thrill of the terrain out of tough off road rides which is what it is all about. This picture is a classic hardtail and I for one would be proud to own and ride it.

What will they think of next in cycle design and technology?

I for one would feel kinda self-conscious about riding this monster, how about you?

Regardless of the reasons for getting this off the drawing board it does lack a bit of taste fashion-wise.

The idea behind Concept Bicycles called Versabikes is to make reselling your bicycle easier since they can be adjusted to fit multiple riders. The customizable bikes would also add to the comfort of the rider and even grow with the rider. Versabikes are a very unique design by Nathan Durflinger and are hypothetically made to be eco-friendly with pieces from materials like finished plywood, polycarbonate, or machined aluminum. The frame would work with all standard bike hardware and could be manufactured in two different sizes including a small size that could be adjusted as a child grew. A very cool concept that would greatly reduce waste is made a reality!

Look at this wonderfully decorated bike. It’s full of flowers and even a friendly toy dog and turtle. It’s often parked in front of this toy shop window. It’s special and great to look at when walking past it. Even Rembrandt seems to admire this one.

Bicycle Group to Offer Valet Service on Inauguration

The Washington Area Bicyclist Association wants to make it easier for area riders to attend President-elect Barack Obama's
inauguration.

WASHINGTON -- One group wants to make it easier for people to ride bicycles to the inauguration instead of adding to the anticipated congestion on the roads and rails.

The Washington Area Bicyclist Association is working on plans to offer
a bicycle valet service Jan. 20.

Valet stations would be set up at McPherson Square and near the Jefferson Memorial.

The group says volunteers would watch the bicycles while the riders enjoyed the day's events. Riders wouldn't need a lock and would receive a commemorative ticket to reclaim the bike.

The plan has won financial support from the national cycling advocacy group America Bikes. Minneapolis company Dero Bike Racks plans to lend its bike racks. D.C. transportation officials say they also support the idea.

We visited Japan from August 12 to September 20. The weather was very

Turbo Trainer Sweat Catcher Cloth

I used to have a turbo trainer and used it often in preperation for time trials on the Yorkshire roads. It helped me to get my time down very well.
There was of coursew the said prblem of the sweat not only dripping onto your bike frame but also onto the turbo trainer itself causing rust to set in with the saltlyelements in the persperation.

To get over this problem I use da tea towel and it did expactly the same job as this sweat catching cloth.

To all you turbo trainers out there, just don't bother buying this, us the tea towel method and save over ten quid!

Parking that is close to the train station is limited and expensive so driving to the station is not practical and as a result many people take the bus, walk, or ride bicycles to the station. Teenagers talking on their cell phones while riding, little old ladies on their way to the supermarket, and businessmen in suits riding their bicycles to the station, riding with one hand holding an umbrella in the other hand when raining are all common sights. I have even seen the occasional young girl riding her bicycle to a festival dressed in a kimono or yukatta. Because there are so many, bicycles are often left anywhere there is a space. People often leave there bicycles at the station for days. I have seen, at Nirasaki station, bikes literally piled one on top of the other forming a massive heap. The no bicycle parking laws are rarely enforced on a regular basis. A few times a year the city will announce that it will clear out bicycles on a certain day if not removed.
