Stylish Italian MBM Fold-up Bike

Lovely little stylish fold up bike made by the Italian bike manufacturer MBM. Love the covered chain, pity more don't come with this option as it makes cleaning the chain less frequent and we all know how messy that is. Retails for around £180-£200. Italian Ferrari red is an eye catcher as well.

Brompton for London but NOT Bulgaria

Bought this in London and used it for commuting and many runs, ideal and loved every moment. My move to Bulgaria was the end of the Brompton Romance, it just would not have survived the ragged cobblestoned street that frequent the town I now live it. Some other Londoner is now enjoying the commute on my ex-bike.

A Bike Without a Saddle

Well if you suffer from saddle sores, this bike may well be for you. It is a bike without a saddle, you just hang from the frame and propel yourself by scampering. Not the coolest posture trying to impress the opposite sex. Looks like this guy is speeding along, but I suspect it is on a flat or slightly downhill. I'd love to see him ride in the Yorkshire Pennines!

Freedom Framed Bicycle in London

Designed by M and C Saatchi, this ads frequents the London area in trying to promote tfl's campaign for more cyclists in London. I recognised the backdrop as Parliament Hill Fields where I spend much of my youth. This aside the cycle concept is quite clever, but then the most influential genre in this world are the media and advertising industry.

TFL Olympic Poster

The 2012 Olympics are in full swing in London now and seemingly tfl (Transport for London) have dished out some good advice for getting around during the games, namely riding a cycle. I like the way they use humour to get the message across. It does however have the desired effect of getting the message across.

A Bike For The Olympics?

I just like the idea of transforming the Olympic symbol into a bicycle that actually works from it, even with the right colour combination. Not too sure about whether is would compete in a an Olympic cycling discipline though.

The Mighty Bicycle

I'm not too sure where this cycle comes from as the website that it originated from is now deleted.It is a concept bicycle of course, not too sure how much it weighs, it looks quite heavy so economical riding would be difficult. In fact I am not too sure what it was designed for other than fashion. Looks cool though.

A Smashed Up Cycle

I'm not quite sure how this happened, I only hope the rider is okay. Not too sure whether it can be repair, but the spare parts will always come in useful. I feel quite sorry for bikes that get into such a state especially road bikes that shouldn't be confronted with the impact that this poor machine as taken.

I Love The Circular Frame

Not everyone's taste due to the age of the bicycle fashion, but I quite like this. It is a single gear with quite high ratio so I bet it goes like a bomb on the flat. Not too sure how the guy mounts it though. I would guess this is around the 1920s or 1930s.

A Typical Cruiser or Beach Cruiser Bike

Cruiser bicycles are cool, They are also known as beach cruisers with fat tyres and an upright seating posture they only have a single-speed gear, and a simple steel construction with a flowing style. These bikes are noted for their durability and robustness. First introduced in the USA in the 1930s there has since been a revival in the 1990s. A cool dude machine which reminds me of the hippy age although they weren't popular during hippy times.

A Classic Bicycle Diagram

In case you are not familiar with the bicycle components that are standard on bicycle, I have provided a diagram that give you exactly that. It is based on the classic road/racing bike and includes most of the parts and names of parts that you will find on a standard set up. So many bits and pieces on something that has a human engine.

What Will They Think Of Next In Cycle Design?

What will they think of next in cycle design and technology?

I for one would feel kinda self-conscious about riding this monster, how about you?

Regardless of the reasons for getting this off the drawing board it does lack a bit of taste fashion-wise.

The idea behind Concept Bicycles called Versabikes is to make reselling your bicycle easier since they can be adjusted to fit multiple riders. The customizable bikes would also add to the comfort of the rider and even grow with the rider. Versabikes are a very unique design by Nathan Durflinger and are hypothetically made to be eco-friendly with pieces from materials like finished plywood, polycarbonate, or machined aluminum. The frame would work with all standard bike hardware and could be manufactured in two different sizes including a small size that could be adjusted as a child grew. A very cool concept that would greatly reduce waste is made a reality!
